Dental veneers

An excellent cosmetic solution to damaged, misaligned or discoloured teeth.

Treatment

Veneers are crafted from porcelain or ceramics and attach permanently to your teeth. They are a great cosmetic solution for patients seeking a straight, bright, aesthetic smile. If a patient’s teeth are damaged, misaligned or discoloured, veneers can often be formed to address these problems.

Process

In an initial consultation, the dentist will assess the patient’s suitability for veneers. At this stage, if there are other dental issues present, such as decay or gum disease, it must be addressed before starting the veneers process. Once suitability is confirmed, an impression is taken, and the veneers are crafted. A layer of enamel may be removed in order to provide a base for the veneer to be adhered to. Increasingly we recommend “zero preparation” veneers, where no enamel is removed or a hybrid approach where as little as possible enamel is removed. This process can be completed in as few as two appointments.
